Daily Mommy-Schedule Of A STAH + Working Mom
Can’t get things done cause your Baby is keeping you busy all day?
Keep reading & find out how I take care of my 6-Month old daughter, run my own business, keep our place clean and still find time for daily self-care.
The number one most important tip is to create a routine that works for your entire family and stick to it. Everyday!
Planning out your days in advance, maybe on Sunday before the next week starts, will help so much with getting things done while still rocking wifey- & motherhood. Especially if you have a lot of errands to run, need to work, or get things done around the house. Plan It Out!
Schedule any activity of the week and get it done on the day you originally planned it. Don’t skip it, cause let’s be honest, it will most likely not get done on the next day either. Try not to schedule too many things in one day, it can possibly overwhelm you, especially in the beginning.
Keep it simple and manageable and then stick to whatever you planned out.
Today, I will share my Daily Mommy-Schedule to show you an example of what a planned out day as a SAHM & Working Mom on a set routine looks like.
Once my husband’s alarm goes off at 06:00 a.m., I will feed my daughter and get some snuggles in. After a fresh diaper and outfit, I bring her into the living room and she will hang out in her swing for a while.
06:20 a.m. – 06:30 a.m.
I quickly put on a face mask while brushing my teeth, getting dressed, and making our bed. After that, I wash it off and moisturize my face.
06:30 a.m. – 07:00 a.m.
While my daughter is hanging out in her swing, I quickly tidy up around the apartment. Usually, I will do some laundry, take care of the dishes, and put away stuff that is laying in all the wrong places. In case my daughter is still happy and entertained, I also like to vacuum, just to be done with it for the day.
07:00 a.m. – 07:30 a.m.
That’s the time I focus only on my daughter. We either play or read some books together. I don’t want to get her all excited before her first nap of the day, so we keep it simple and gentle.
07:30 a.m. – 08:30 a.m.
Naptime for her, workout time for me.
I am currently still trying to lose the last bit of my (60 lbs) pregnancy weight gain. So I decided to incorporate some exercise into my life. I will usually do some YouTube Workouts or look up some exercises on Pinterest.
After my workout, I will have some breakfast and just enjoy some quiet time until my daughter wakes up again.
*Edit: I lost all of that weight by 9 Months Postpartum. Wanna know how? Check out my post!
08:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
My daughter tends to sleep for an hour. So after a quick feeding session and a fresh diaper, we will sit on her mat and „choose“ some toys to play with.
While she is entertained, I will start working on my blog posts. Since I am sitting right next to her, multitasking the writing and playing is totally manageable. I obviously do need to take some breaks to switch out the toys or give her more attention, but I usually still get a good amount of work done.
10:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
It’s time for the second nap of the day. While she is sleeping, I can fully focus on my blog posts and get most of the work done. However, If I can’t get it done during this time, I will either finish it in the afternoon or later at night.
11:30 p.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Here comes my favorite part: Lunch Time.
Most days, my daughter wakes up around 11:30 a.m. and we will have Lunch together. Sometimes, if I am really lucky, she will sleep until 12 p.m. and I can enjoy my lunch while listening to a podcast or watching some YouTube videos.
12:00 P.M. – 02:00 P.M.
After a quick diaper change, she will have some milk in her swing while I pack her diaper bag. Our activity after that depends on the day and the weather. Sometimes we either visit someone or need to run some errands like grocery shopping. On sunny days, I love taking her on a long walk in the stroller.
02:00 P.M. – 03:30 P.M.
My daughter is always pretty tired after spending time outside and usually takes a long nap. Now I have the chance to finish my post from earlier that day. I also create the images for my Blog and Pinterest during that time.
03:30 p.m. – 04:30 p.m.
This is by far the most active time of our day. After my daughter is all set up with milk and a fresh diaper, I like to challenge and entertain her as much as possible.
We sing, dance, play, and read. All the fun things that will make her brain and body work and get her all tired for the night. Since she is the most engaged and awake during that time, I also try to practice some sitting and crawling with her.
04:30 p.m. – 05:15 p.m.
After a good hour of entertaining her, I will either let her play on her own for a little longer or take her with me to the kitchen to prepare dinner. She will usually sit in her high chair right next to me and play with some toys or spoons.
Once my husband gets home, we will have dinner together and spend some quality time as a family.
05:15 p.m. – 05:45 p.m.
While my husband will take care of our daughter for a bit, I quickly clean up the kitchen and put away any leftovers. I also pick up all of her toys and clean her play mat. Since she spits up a lot, I always check if any of her toys need to be cleaned and dried overnight.
05:45 p.m. – 06:00 p.m.
Now I will go join my husband and daughter, feed her for the last time and sing her a lullaby. We get in some last snuggles before she goes to bed.
06:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
It’s sleepy time for her and adult time for us. We always try to spend some time together but also make sure that everyone has some alone time.
Once our daughter falls asleep, I will do some yoga or stretching for about 15 minutes.
In case you are looking for some good Yoga “Workouts” check out the Channel Yoga With Adriene. She is great and I love following her videos. My goal is to make Yoga a daily habit and her channel is perfect for beginners!
My husband either goes to the gym during that time or takes a quick nap. After I took a quick shower, we will either watch a movie or show together and chat about whatever is on our mind that day.
At around 08:30 p.m., I put my phone into airplane mode and start reading a book until 09:30 p.m. That’s the time I usually get ready for bed and try to squeeze in a short meditation session before falling asleep at around 10:00 p.m.
10 P.M. – 2 A.M. – 6 A.M.
Our daughter usually has a pretty long stretch until 02:00 a.m.; I will feed and burp her and put her right back in the crib. Until we all wake up again at 06:00 a.m. to start a new day on our daily baby-mommy-schedule.
Sticking To A Routine Is Key!
Sticking to whatever Routine you plan out for yourself and your family is so important. I can’t empathize this enough!
But no matter how busy your days are and how many things you have on your To-Do List, never ever forget to incorporate some self-care. You should be close to the top of your priority list.
If we can’t take enough time to take care of ourselves, how are we supposed to take good care of someone else?
